Christ's College in Taipei, Taiwan
|
Dr. James R. Graham, an independent Presbyterian missionary, established Christ’s College as a four-year Christian liberal arts college in Taiwan in 1959. The college is located on a two-acre plot of land on a hilltop near Tanshui, a suburb of Taipei, the capital city of Taiwan. In 1975, Christ’s College became a ministry of Mission to the World and a team of missionary teachers has been working at the college continuously since that time. The current enrollment is about 850 students.

Current Ministry: Christ’s College is a bilingual institution of higher learning, based on biblical truth and dedicated to:
- Evangelizing students to a saving faith in Jesus Christ and discipling them in the Christian faith in a loving and nurturing environment.
- Providing quality education that integrates faith and learning in order to equip students in Christian character and competent professional abilities, as life-long learners.
- Training students to apply a Christian world and life view in order to become servants of Christ and competent Christian leaders in church and society
Future Ministry:As Christ’s College seeks to improve meeting spiritual and academic
objectives more missionaries will be needed.
Some of these missionaries may teach
college-level English (literature, composition,
communications, drama, and TESOL),
business, computer science, mass
communications or music. Other
missionaries may work in student
development as dorm counselors,
evangelists, disciplers and small group Bible
study or ministry leaders.

Current Needs
For the 2005-2006 academic year we need teachers with at least a master’s degree to teach English composition and communications courses. We also need interns who are willing to evangelize and disciple students and help with basic office work. |
Cultural and Ministry Context
The people of Taiwan enjoy a rich heritage of traditional Chinese culture and a lively fusion of modern Chinese and Western cultures. Most of the Chinese students at Christ’s College speak enough English for basic personal communication, so Chinese language study is optional for missionary teachers. | We are excited about your interest in a long-term commitment to missions service.
MTW uses a team-based approach to missions. For that reason, we actively seek missionaries from a variety of backgrounds—ordained or unordained, singles and families, men and women—and with many different ministry skills and interests.
Though MTW's first priority is church planting, we also have missionaries working in a variety of other ministries such as teaching, medicine, community development, and administration.
We currently have one- and two-year and long-term ministry opportunities in over 50 different countries around the world. You are needed on the mission field!
